Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting to fill an opening with a multi-national financial services company that is an established employer of choice based in either Fort Worth, Texas or Detroit, Michigan.
Requirements of the Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA is required
- Public Accounting experience is preferred
- Conceptual knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations and the ability to interpret appropriately
- 2+ years of public accounting and/or public company experience combined required
- Conceptual knowledge of the ASC 842 and ASC 810 is preferred

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting
- Prepare technical accounting memos for complex or non-standard transactions, including lease accounting (ASC 842), consolidation assessments (ASC 810), financing transactions, and revenue recognition
- Participate in the identification, research, and communication of accounting implications in relation to new business transactions and ventures or other non-routine events with the impacted business units, countries or functional departments
- Support the continuous creation, review and update of global accounting policies, as well as working closely with company s controllership function, in reviewing existing policies to determine those requiring update, clarification, expansion, or modification
- Support training of appropriate personnel globally on accounting rules and policies
- Undertake special projects and support Global Finance and Controllership initiatives, as needed
- Lead and identify process improvement initiatives for the Technical Accounting team
