Venteon is currently seeking a Truck Maintenance Mechanic to fill an opening with a manufacturing company located in Grandville, MI

Requirements of the Truck Maintenance Mechanic

• Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities of the Truck Maintenance Mechanic

• Performs electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair of tractor and trailer equipment.
• Assists Drivers in diagnosing malfunctions of tractor and trailer equipment.
• Changes tires as needed.
• Performs Preventative Maintenance as scheduled and documents findings.
• Recommends measures to equipment performance. Maintains 5-S Standards set for the work environment.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Follows company policies in enforcing safety regulations.

• May be involved in janitorial services as well as landscape and trash removal.
