3RD SHIFT CMM TECHNICIAN NEEDED - MASON, MICHIGAN
A Leading Automotive Supplier in Mason, Michigan needs a 3rd Shift CMM Technician. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The CMM Tech coordinates inspection activity and operates/programs CMM to collect dimensional data and generate reports of measurements.
Collects data from the checking fixture according to the control plan.
Runs validation and verification routines for production tools such as check fixtures, manual gauges, etc.
Report any non-conformance detected on the production process to the Quality/Manufacturing Engineer.
Identify potential causes for process variation.
Responsible for dimensional control verification.
Support operations metrics for Pp and PpK.
Calibration of fixtures, measuring equipment, and gages
Repair fixtures, measuring equipment and gauges.
Scan Gages and parts using T-Scan
Review Checklist buyoff for gages.
Perform and lead Gage R&R as needed for new projects.
Review and keep CAD data for checking fixtures.
Verify Red Rabbits.
Recommend corrective actions of design, methods and processes to production and engineering departments.
Inspects machining or assembly fixtures, tools, or gauges, and suggests replacement or use of new equipment.
Compare work against standards of quality provided and distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable tolerances.
Interprets allowable tolerances specified on CAD.
Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized, Lockout/Tagout procedures are adhered to, PPE is worn correctly at all times, and reporting of any near-misses, injuries, or accidents occurs immediately.
Keep work area clean and orderly to prevent safety hazards.
Assure adherence to quality policies and procedures including acceptable work standards, customer specifications and IPI requirements, to also include participation in the creation and support of systems, documentation and actions to ensure continued conformance to Quality (IATF) and Environmental (ISO) management systems.
Observe and follow company policies and maintain proper standards of conduct at all times.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
At least 1 year experience measuring and inspecting parts within a manufacturing environment required.
Basic understanding of how to read micrometers, gages, blue prints.
Basic knowledge of GD&T.
Basic Math skills.
Basic knowledge of CMM software, preferably Caligo, GOM and/or Polyworks.
Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office, Gage Trak a plus.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect and analyze data.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Detail oriented, problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
