2ND SHIFT TOOL & DIE TEAM LEADER - BELLEVILLE, MICHIGAN
A Leading Automotive Supplier near Belleville, Michigan needs a 2nd Shift Tool & Die Team Leader. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This Tool & Die Repair Team Leader's Position is an hourly hands-on supervisory role that involves leading tool room operations and troubleshooting stamping dies. This role reports to the Tool Room Supervisor.
Lead tool and die technicians / repairers during the 2nd Shift.
Troubleshoot, repair and maintain Progressive & Transfer Stamping Dies.
Manage perishable tool inventories, part changes, and tool room workflow.
Ensure presses are running safely and efficiently with minimal downtime. Maintain and upgrade fixtures and gauges
Study specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions and visualizes product to determine the materials required and the machines to be used to fabricate parts
Make decisions and judgments about the proper course of action for repair and maintenance
Demonstrate good short- and long-term decision making in these areas:
Tooling Troubleshooting. Diagnosis of the problem and courses of action. Tool room repair and maintenance work. Tool Room Machining Practices
Program timing, meeting deadlines
Perform duties and operate machinery & equipment according to MIOSHA standards and company procedures using required safety equipment (gloves, sleeves, earplugs, etc.)
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations
Adhere to all company policies and procedures in a professional and consistent manner
Apply common sense understanding and use appropriate judgment in routine business situations with supervisors, co-workers, and customers
Participating in Continuous Improvement activities
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 3 to 5 years of related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of Education or Experience
Previous Leadership or Supervisory Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Plant is Required
Strong knowledge in Metal Stamping Dies and Die Maintenance Expertise is Needed.
A Journeyman s Card in Tool & Die is Preferred
