1ST & 2ND SHIFT TOOL & DIE MAKER'S - LORAIN, OHIO

A Leading Automotive Supplier near Lorain, Ohio needs 1st and 2nd Shift Tool & Die Maker's. Previous Tool & Die Experience in an Automotive Manufacturing Plant is Required. Metal Stamping and Progressive Die Expertise is Needed. 
 
These are Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Positions offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for performing manufacture, repair and maintenance to progressive dies and rebuild or repair tooling to support production.

 

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

Perform die maintenance, using tool rom equipment and hand tools.

 

Layout and perform center drilling, reaming, lapping, tapping, countersinking and counter boring.

 

Machine parts to blueprint specifications.

 

Fabricate and/or repair dies for production.

 

Layout existing die sections and make replacements as needed.

 

Make in press repairs of tooling.

 

Document and record various data for the department.

 

Drive a hi-lo and operate crane to transport dies for maintenance or installation.

 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

 

High School Diploma or equivalent, plus formal training leading to Journeyman status as a Tool & Die Maker and / or equivalent on the job experience.

 

3 to 5 plus years of related work experience as a Tool & Die Maker

 

Strong mechanical ability and problem-solving skills sufficient to perform fabrication and build activities.

 

Blueprint Reading

 

Knowledge of cutting, forming, milling, grinding, assembly, tool steel composition, tool sharpening, hardness testing, machine repair, and set-up, and metal fabrication.

 

Operate basic metrology instruments, grinders, mills, lathes, drill presses, optical comparator, and EDM machine.

 

Ability to calculate speeds and feeds and perform machine offsets.

 

Computer & Math Skills sufficient to perform department related tasks required.

 

Good Communication Skills to interact with all levels of employees.
