Job Description

Venteon Finance is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a not-for-profit client in Farmington Hills, MI. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team, and growth oriented company.

REQUIREMENTS of the Senior Accountant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3 + years of current relevant accounting experience & current knowledge of GAAP

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Senior Accountant

  • Reviews and reconciles accounting transactions for proper classification in accordance with GAAP, applicable federal regulations, and performance standards and agency contract requirements as appropriate.
  • Performs monthly close processes and ensures timely resolution of outstanding issues.
  • May perform monthly bank and investment reconciliations.
  • Creates and posts accrual journal entries for revenue and expense accounts as applicable.
  • Creates and posts adjusting journal entries as needed.
  • Prepares financial statements and reports relating to financial performance. Completes variance analyses comparing to prior periods and budget.
  • Support Accounts Payable as needed.
  • Establish, maintain, foster and develop a professional relationship with other departments.
  • May address issues and or questions from other departments related to the monthly financial operating results and provide analysis of actual vs budget variances.
  • May prepare client billings, including grant billings.
  • Assist in creation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
  • Maintains regular and consistent attendance.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
